Introduction
The SVQ in Occupational Work Supervision at SCQF Level 6 is a work-based qualification for people who supervise teams in the construction industry. It confirms that the candidate has the skills to plan work, manage workers, monitor progress, and ensure health and safety standards are followed on site.
The qualification is assessed through practical evidence and observation in the workplace and demonstrates that the individual is competent to work as a site supervisor or team leader.
Certification
On completion of the SVQ Occupational Work Supervision at SCQF L6, candidates will be eligible to apply for a CSCS Gold Supervisor card. Candidates must also have an in-date CITB HS&E Touchscreen Test for Supervisors.
Timeline
SVQ’s are designed to be flexible, allowing you to progress at a speed that works best for you. The time it takes to finish will depend on your dedication and engagement. For funded SVQ’s, you are required to be registered for at least 6 months, however we will offer comprehensive support for over 12 months.
Assessment
Assessment takes place fully within the work environment, with dedicated one-on-one support from an assessor. Competence is demonstrated through on-site observation, structured professional conversations, and documented workplace materials, including method statements, risk assessments, and job records. We also work with an excellent e-portfolio, where you can upload evidence in your own time, at a time and place that suits you.
