SVQ Insulation and Building Treatments at SCQF L5

The SVQ in Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) at SCQF Level 5 is a work-based vocational qualification designed for people working in insulation or building treatment roles in the construction industry. It proves that workers have the practical skills and knowledge required to carry out insulation and building treatment tasks safely and effectively on site.

The qualification is based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) developed for the construction sector by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), ensuring that the content reflects industry expectations and current good practice.

On completion of the SVQ in Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) at SCQF Level 5, candidates will be eligible to apply for a CSCS Skilled Worker card. Candidates must also have an in-date CITB Touchscreen Test for Operatives.

SVQ’s are designed to be flexible, allowing you to progress at a speed that works best for you. The time it takes to finish will depend on your dedication and engagement. For funded SVQ’s, you are required to be registered for at least 6 months, however we will offer comprehensive support for over 12 months.

Assessment takes place fully within the work environment, with dedicated one-on-one support from an assessor. Competence is demonstrated through on-site observation, structured professional conversations, and documented workplace materials, including method statements, risk assessments, and job records. We also work with an excellent e-portfolio, where you can upload evidence in your own time, at a time and place that suits you.
